We partner with the Haitian Timoun Foundation and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone to tend to our GLOBAL relationships. We contribute to the ELCA World Hunger Appeal and Lutheran World Relief to support the work of Lutherans in disaster response and hunger alleviation throughout the world. The Haitian Timoun Foundation works with grassroots Haitian organizations and leadership to raise up a new alternative for children and families in Haiti struggling with extreme poverty. The Haitian Timoun Foundation leads trips to Haiti throughout the year to engage the Haitian culture, sponsors Haitians for teaching visits to the US, and provides opportunities for direct impact through the sponsorship of children at partner organizations. On the first Sunday of every month, you can purchase fair trade coffee, tea, and chocolate at PMLC. This program of Lutheran World Relief ensures that fair trade prices are paid to the growers responsible for the sweet goodness we fill our cups with every morning! ELCA World Hunger and Lutheran World Relief operate on every continent in the world and in cities around our country to help those recovering from disaster and stop hunger in its tracks. The Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone is the partner church to our Northern Texas – Northern Louisiana Synod. This church, though relatively young in its existence, is growing rapidly in one of the most devastated countries in Africa.
